Project Aim

When I was a kid, spycraft was unbearably cool. One of the things I always wanted to make was a hollowed out book to keep secret stuff in.

Choosing A Book

One of the most important tasks is choosing the correct book.

The book must be large enough to contain whatever you want to hide. Also, it must be a book which would not look out of place on your bookshelves, but at the same time, must not sound intriguing enough that someone might actually open it. Novels are best, because while someone might flick through a big book like the Guinness Book Of Hit Singles, nobody browses a novel. Especially if it's something they've seen before, like Agatha Christie, Inspector Morse, or James Herriot. If you can get an anthology, that's even better because it makes the book bigger.

Oh, and always go for a hard-back.
